Dee, Mary and Toni met through the resistance movement as active letter writers for We Get Out the Vote (WeGOTV) during the first Trump regime.  In 2019 they became the leads of WeGOTV,  expanding the letter writing effort and creating a unique letter distribution system of letter boxes placed widely around the Capital area. In 2024  WeGOTV grew into We Get Out The Resistance (WeGOTR) with a mission to educate as many people as possible to resist the Trump Regime, defend our democracy and understand the evils of Project 2025. 

In 2025, their efforts were acknowledged by Citizen Action of NY, Capital District Regional Council. They were awarded the Jim Perry Progressive Leadership Award.
